Hold into the ball a bit and don't get so excited near the line and the boys will be fine.

I will just state this though; for all Tim Sheen's vast experience, he's still a newbie SL coach. I don't doubt him at all (unlike the dire Sandercock era that filled me with zero positivity) but just worth noting.

The only question is " Who will Rovers play in the million pound game "

Dave we have a set of forwards who other than lunt, mulhearn and masoe are not good enough, greenwood who looked promising has gone backwards, donno who is 100% trier is not big enough, kavanagh, clarkson, lee, jewitt, johnson and tickle are bang average and most have had more clubs than tiger woods.Addy and lawler who are both s/l standard are long term injuries, blair is a good player as is scruton but both are nearing the end of their careers. In the backs shaw and heffernan are good attackers but poor defenders, against wakey and salford they were pinpointed and found out.Atkins and maguire are a promising combo, but maguire is injured and we appear to have no one else in the halves,we have moss on loan at york, who was more than decent last season on the wing or full back would surely be an option at full back and quinlan in the halves.Barring for that were looking good.

I total agree I’d like to see quinlan in the half’s and dagger/moss at full back and we do need a strong running big hitting second row we have been lacking in the second row a wile, if we had decent second row then ower pack would be much strong and heff and shaw are good players don’t get me wrong but there edge is always getting caught out, id put blair at 13 aswell

The snag is we have not had a decent pack for the last 3 or 4 years and it looks like we will not have this year you can not start behind all the other teams and hope to get good plays when they have all got them

You look v poor, a lot of strengthening required, but cannot do it in one season. I reckon you might just survive, a lot will depend on the league structure next season. IMO cats the only worse team than you.

V poor? I'd hazard you've seen us on tv v Leeds only? On paper we look a decent mixture of youth and experience but as many say our pack lacks real size and grunt.Still very early days and it's been a big jump in quality opposition than last year but I feel we have a whole lot of improvement in this squad to come. A Newton type quality 2nd rower and a fit Mcguire and we would be about right I'd say? VaiVai and Donno to come in so I don't think it's doom and gloom quite yet? Apart from 2nd 40 minutes v Giants your season has stunk somewhat so far?

I suppose it is all relative to expectation. Broadly speaking it still feels like the club are doing their best in challenging circumstances, I've got a fair bit of faith in Sheens and there's still a warm glow/clean slate feeling about promotion.

However, if you were another SL club about to face Rovers what would be your biggest fear? My fear is that there's nothing inherently frightening about our team. Yes, we've got some good individuals and there's always the hope that they'll collectively raise their game for any given 80 minutes, but if you were looking for one term to positively define us (like you might say Cas are free scoring, Leeds know how to win, Hull are strong, Wigan are rugged, Wakey or Salford are powerful/energetic), I don't know what it'd be yet. The journey and pitch, respectively, at least make Catalans and Widnes 'tricky on their patch', whereas we need the crowd behind the team to claim the same, and that gets to be a bigger ask when wins are rare.

Are you including other likely middle 8 opponents in that? I say that as it’s quite obvious we will be in them. Having watched the last 2 Toronto games I am a lot less worried as I think there’s little in the Championship that looks able to challenge. Leigh are in a right state already, Fev and London will probably make the top 4 but no disrespect when it mattered last year we had their number.

We should target 10th and with 4 home games we should navigate a top3 spot again, then look to build for 2019.
