Having watched the last 2 Toronto games I am a lot less worried as I think there’s little in the Championship that looks able to challenge. Leigh are in a right state already, Fev and London will probably make the top 4 but no disrespect when it mattered last year we had their number.

We should target 10th and with 4 home games we should navigate a top3 spot again, then look to build for 2019.

I don't see any SL side being in danger from any of the championship clubd

Got to be honest.
I don't like the charity shirt we've bought out. Which is a shame as I've generally liked most of the 1st team and retro tops we've done recently.

The whole Erasure thing means little to me but it's found favour with many. The shirt isn't for me but I liked the PNG one and the red union jack one.Weve been pretty good with the limited edition shirts.Last years play off one was also good. Due a dud but still money in the coffers

Surely the whole idea of a charity shirt is that the proceeds go to charity?

At this moment I would agree with you.
I would tend to wait till early may/June to see how they're going. Still think Leigh will be up there and they could cause some problems in middle 8's, London could do something at Home. Be intresting to see how they work Toronto fixtures (last year there away games were 1st).

That's of course if they are going to relegate anyone.
never know they might of decided there format for 2019 by then.

Was just including SL actually, I don't think that the championship clubs will be good enough to beat you.

Returning to the original question in the thread title, I think we are approaching a major crossroads.
The current board have done a fantastic job over a long period, but we know they’re there out of a sense duty/responsibility as much as anything by this point. Tony Larvin’s offer to relieve them of the burden was more than 5 years ago now.
With changes at the RFL, Pearson, Leneghan and Eddie Hearn offering thoughts on where SL might go, but little clarity even for next season’s structure, change is certainly in the air. And that offers opportunities as well as challenges.
With circumstances so unclear, it is hard to see how best to position the club, but we can think about what is most important to us. For me, much as I want success at the highest possible sustainable level, the key thing is to find a way to be independently viable at whatever level that might be.

But that's the problem. Until we know exactly what format RL is going to take not just next year, but in the future. And where Rovers are going to be in the grand scheme of things. It's very hard to predict were we are heading or what we've got to do. Short term the goal has to be staying in the SL so were more relevant in decusions on the new format. Long term I would personally like for what's been happening the last few years to continue. Progressing the club with the steps we've been making. Improving the club by learning from previous mistake (and put the games back to Sundays please). As a club were in a better place than we have been for a while. And hopefully with improvement on the field could in a few years lead to the club challenging to be be in the top 4, or Wembley finals (were we at least compete).

I agree with your comments regarding the board. 20 years ago through to mid 2000's we were in a bleak desperate place, averaging 1500/2000 crowds, of field issues etc. They have done a fantastic job steering us past that, to where we are now.
Unfortunately there dosn't seem to be anyone in Hull willing to put the money into the club. Or the sport as a whole really. Until we can get that investment we are doing the best we can, but to take the next step we need the investment & or a better recruitment.

Agree with all of that. The bit I've underlined certainly seems to be true in terms of new investors/benefactors, and while there's no indication the current board will pull the plug in the short-term, it's unrealistic to imagine they'll be there forever. The questions for me are 'is there a way Hull KR can be sustainable without that extra income?' and 'what does that look like?'. As you say, without knowing how things are going to be structured, it's impossible to know. But once things become clearer, it might be a good time for the club's stakeholders to look at the options.
