I noticed him giving the linesman some verbals after the 49/20. Like I said from where I stand the ball was close enough to the 20m mark for it to be debatable. It certainly wasn’t as deep as the linesman gave which was about 15m from our try line. I’ll have to watch it back on KRTV, but it would be good to hear from someone who was in line with the 20m mark as there view will be better than mine was.

I saw it bounce out, Not a 40/20. I actually said to the brother in law, where is the linesman running to? Then Bingo, nowhere near where it actually went out.

Crooks and Tomkins both cautioned - Tomkins for disputing ref decision.

No other charges.

posted this on your "Hudgell Out" topic by mistake sorry, should be on here.

Tony Smith will be your best signing for many a year. He is great at revitalising a club, getting a solid game plan together that they have to buy into and playing at the right end of the table and winning more than you lose.
If he can do that for you lot then you will be in Ga Ga land, but I think he will do it for you.

I think you'll stay up now, and you'll have 4 or 5 seasons of lets say...enjoying watching your side.

If FC can keep progressing and Smith can bring something to you guys, then how great would it be to have another period like we had between 78-85.
Would be great for Rugby in this City and for the game in general.....and it would be nice to have some real opposition in the Derbys lol.

The only question mark with Smith is he seems to have a shelf life, whereby he feels he has to leave or the team and supporters tend to just fall out of love with him. Even after the success he brought Warrington their board was fed up to the back teeth with him by the time he did finally leave.
But I bet they appreciate what he did for them now when they look back.
So good luck with that one, but not too much of course. Just stay around 4th place for a few years and don't actually win anything proper.

Genuine question, how long has he signed for? Is it just till the end of the season or longer?

I'll be amazed if he isn't given a long contract at the end of the season, especially if he keeps us up. He's a top coach who I believe would offer the club its best chance of really moving forward. We can't keep on moving sideways or even backwards in some respects. We really have to appoint someone with real credentials, who is relatively young and has coached in the English game for several years in my view.
