I'm sorry to be obtuse. To my mind, the words of poems are there to provoke the imagination while telling a story or relating to a point.

...refers to Darth's programming of his alarm clock with the Imperial March. Tick tock=alarm clock; sabre flash=Darth's dreams; Dawn breaking (cracking) but hinting that Dawn is also a laughing girl - Darth still being in semi dreamland.

...But it's not Dawn (the girl), it's Edith who's up in the tree with him. It wasn't dawn breaking but Edith's head cracking against a branch.
As she giggles with glee...
