For me, some of the initial nervousness around Abdull was the prospect (received with straight-faced stoicism by some) that he'd be paired with Scott Prince. This Pike-and-Godfrey-esque potential combo alarmed me greatly. With Ellis on board (and now Quinlan too, who can also play stand-off), Abdull looks more young and promising than inexperienced and unproven. He's still a gamble, but most signings are and we're not going to be highly reliant on him. His parent club matters very little to me. When we were rumoured to be looking at one of their props, I was a liitle disdainful of Osbourne, and cool on Matongo, but if it people had been talking about Bowden (unlikely admittedly) that'd have been better than okay.
I want Abdull to do really, really well for us - no caveats or equivocation. Right now he is Hull KR.
