by sacking Kelly you don't have to pay him off his contract which he had left, you get rid for misconduct saving you a small fortune and freeing up cap space, maybe he deserved it I like don't know but lets face it suspending your best player when your fighting for SL survival was not the best decision ever made at your club your opponents will have been doing cart wheels



I can only deduce from this that the your management team thought you where in no trouble and you would ease through the rest of the middle 8s and so get rid of Kelly on the cheap less a years contract money but it went t+ts up, can you see any other reason why you would suspend one of your best players at this time ? you took a gamble and it went very wrong bad management from a guy who given the chance will be gone as soon as he can with his 5 year plan

The 23s comp was to try and help this situation as a sort of under grade comp but the poor leadership at the rugby league have failed again to get on board at least my club is trying to find a pathway for young players and so was your club until the money strings got cut

Do you really think by signing one player(not even a poor one), we will drop 8 places and finish in the middle 8's. If he does anything wrong, then he won't play and will be released and we will be fine.



It's a risk, but one worth taking with our depth.

If you'd seen Kelly play against Leeds in the middle 8s you might have a different opinion he was terrible and arguably cost us the game to suggest we took a risk to save a bit of money is ridiculous

Also I was a big fan of alby and think on his day he is unplayable.. but if what I believe he's done is true then if I was lee radford I wouldn't of gone near him... even his best mate maurice blair doesnt talk to him now from what I'm told

I had the conversation about middle8s next season with a hull fan but he got all gangster when I suggested hull wouldn't be top 4 and imo may be back in the perennial fight between 6-9.i wouldn't be that surprised to see them and us in the middle 8. Interesting season ahead for both teams

To suggest Rovers sacked Kelly purely as a financial measure is naive in the extreme, as anyone with even a passing understanding of employment law will tell you.



Kelly was suspended for a last straw act, which was at the end of a long line of previous misdemeanours. I applaud the club for taking a principled stand against a very disruptive bloke, who had lost support from all his work colleagues at that point.



His dismissal would have been on solid legal grounds otherwise we'd be looking at an unfair dismissal case from fat lad.
