Ahhhhh. So THAT'S what a hooker looks like! I had got so used to a hooker being the one in the team that was there to slow the game down and just run a couple of metres then get tackled.

I meant, as well, leaving any player unused on the bench. With fewer interchanges, there will sometimes be a case for having a back there solely to cover injuries. Though, given the way we set up yesterday it would have involved some juggling if a centre or wing had gone down, I admit.

We’d lost our way a bit, and a worrying number of games, under Sheens this year, but he ended up being criticised for some stuff rather harshly, imo.

On Atkin specifically, he is still a valuable member of the squad - just because he isn’t a saviour, doesn’t make him useless. :)

Thought both went well last night. Hopefully we can extend the loan periods as it will benefit both us and them if they get game time instead of kicking their heels back over the wrong side of the Pennines.

I think Atkin brings something the frustration of watching the slow plodders at hooker all season and Atkin not getting a game when it was crying out for someone with a bit of zip turned him into this messiah who was going to save us not his fault I understand he couldn’t be brought on last night but Parcell hadn’t played for a while not that you’d have noticed but was probably there to spell him but wasn’t needed in the end

can we keep them ,hard to believe the lad johnson is only 20 and mixing it in a hull derby very promising, livett a very good versitile player with plenty in his locker, without the initial hysteria of a derby victory based on the 2 games played so far they have been a bonus for us only having a thin squad

They've both looked promising i think, prefer to see Livett in the 2nd row rather than through the middle though but he's a talented player for sure. Johnson defo one for the future too
