If we stay up we might be the first team in super league to not win 2 games on the trot or has it happened before?

I’m not sure, but I thought i’d look up the worst teams not to be relegated in seasons when there was relegation, and who then made it to the start line the following year.

Paris ‘96, 7 points, 3 wins from 22 games.
Wakefield ‘02 12 points, 5 wins from 28.
Widnes ‘04 14 points, 7 wins from 28.
Wakefield ‘15 6 points, 3 wins from 23, 3 from 7 in middle 8s, won mpg.

We have 16 points already after 23 rounds. The highest number of points won by a bottom placed club in SL is Catalans’ 16 from 28 in their first season when they were exempted from relegation in 2006. Cas were relegated from second bottom that year with 19 points.

There have been a lot of SL teams a lot worse than the 2019 Rovers, just not in 2019.

It occurs to me after all the years of there being one really poor team who ends up cut adrift, but that not really being a relevant outcome in the 8s system, we escape that purgatory and go straight into a season in which there is no whipping boy team, so we’re still not able to stabilise. Sod’s law.

Last year’s main season finished after 23 rounds, and we had 17 points after a pleasant if not very relevant-to-survival run of good results towards its end. 16 this year at the same point - so we are reasonably consistent in that regard.

Well it looks like we will finish the season not winning 2 games on the trot let’s hope and pray we are still in super league next season

Our awful points for and against is now a real concern. Think Leeds are safe now, they are in effect 5 points clear of London because of their for and against. It,s either us London, Wakefield of Shudds...we must win our two home games or I fear the worst.
It,s all ifs and buts, but if Cas could do us a big favour by beating London, and we could win both our home games,London would need to win all of their other 4 games to overtake us, and we should be ok(points diff allowing).
Never make it easy for ourselves do we?
On the plus side, the young kid Lewis looks a find,

Hate to say it, but the way Leeds played last night showed intent, looked more like their old selves. Still can`t see Rovers going down. London have heart ,but don`t think that will be enough. Just my opinion of course.
