Been supporting Rovers for 60 years, and have seen it all. Forums are about opinions, some of them spot on, many utter rubbish spouted by trolls(we all know who they are). Bottom line, in my opinion, unless we get some heavy artillery in the pack soon(not in 3 months) and get key players back, we will, very likely be relegated, and all the horrible issues that brings will follow.
The effort is there, but the pack is overpowered every time, not through lack of effort, but the others teams are bigger, faster, stronger and it eventually takes a toll, and all the opposition know it.The team gets battered and injuries happen. The old adage, forwards win the game, the backs decide by how many rings true, but lots of our likely first choice backs are missing, hence our low points scored tally.
Last night we could have conceded 50, how many times were Cas held up over the line?
The crowd tries to lift the team, but the support is getting dispirited, and eventually players heads will possibly drop.
Two wins on the bounce not achieved since the season before last is appalling.
It seems we are hoping Toronto, Salford, anybody will be worse, but right now that doesnt, look like it.This is bad.
I will still turn up and shout for the team, but I now go expecting defeat and have not done that for a long time.
Think the team must have ran over a black cat re. the injuries again, but it is what it is.
We have got to beat Toronto and Salford every time or this could be critical and the difference between survival or not.
We need some experience big hard forwards soon...24 games left according to the fixture list to repair the squad.
Apparently we are nowhere near cap, good job.Hope they use it wisely and maybe get lucky(getting lucky would make a nice change)
With a first choice team and a couple of good signings we would have a chance, but when does that happen??
Hate been negative and a miserable old git, but I,m fed up. We could do with some positive news. It,s been a while since we had any.
But I will keep going and keep hoping,(I must be nuts! ha ha)

You are bang on the nail with your assessment. What makes me angry is the fact the every season for the past 4 at least, we have said and known that we have been too light in the forwards. Each year the club promises to address that problem. My self and many other long term Rovers supporters said at the beginning of the season that we had got our priorities wrong again when it came to recruitment and that we would once again struggle. It's no good the club making the excuse that good forwards are hard to find when the club don't know what league It'll be playing in the following season. If that's the case, we are already facing the same problem again at the end of this season, we need to break that cycle. Plus, other clubs such as Huddersfield and Salford the season before, who were in the same position as us but with smaller crowds and received much less revenue from pass and merchandise sales, managed to find a player or two that have so far paid dividends and made a difference to their performances. We have rode our luck for the past three seasons in relation to relegation. At some point that luck is going to run out, as will the money from gate receipts and sponsorship if we are relegated. I understand the club are currently and frantically looking for quality forwards to bolster the pack. Which begs the question....Why weren't the club pulling out all the stops to sign such players before the season began? especially given the fact that the same problem of lack of size in the pack has been evident for so long.

I've mentioned it before. Am.not sure its just a lack of size though? Maher Mulhearn Garnett are big blokes. Trout Hadley rivitt are not exactly small. The young lad storton plenty of beef. Throw in 2 big centres and you have a fair bit of size. I would say it's more a lack of aggression as well. By the way still think.you will stay up.

I agree. I look at rovers pack and it’s really not that small. It’s just not up to super league standards. Garbutt’s always injured, so is Hadley. Maher and Trout are slow and just poor quality. Rivet can be good but he can also be gash and that’s why Wire loaned him out. Jez Litten gets bullied in defense and is the only one I would say lacks size.

I think the club is in a difficult situation regarding recruitment, reading NH Q&A in the wail he kinda says getting people to come to the club is not easy and you probably have to pay over the odds and I guess that is because your in the relegation zone the last couple of years.

You do suffer from a lot of injuries but buying players with bad injury records (Garbutt & Hadley) wont help.

It is a real catch 22 situation but I agree with the posts that say get them early for next season or it will never end.
