Counting Down To Friday Night Lights
21st August 2012 London Skolars annual Friday Night Lights event is just days away and this year’s main match is potentially one of the most important in the club’s history. Skolars face already promoted Whitehaven at New River, KO 6.30pm, in front of the Premier Sports cameras as the match is broadcast live. A win for Skolars will take the club closer to securing a play-off place, which will be a first and evidence of the progress being made both on and off the pitch. Friday Night Lights, now in its seventh year, provides fans visiting London for the Challenge Cup Final with the chance to take in another professional Rugby League match before the big match at Wembley the following day. Commenting on this year’s event Skolars General Manager Howard Kramer had this to say: “There’s been a lot of interest in the club this season and it’s been widely acknowledged that Skolars are a tough team to beat on their day. We have the added incentive, with the Premier Sports cameras here, of being able to showcase the team to a wider audience. Interest in the event has been great with ticket sales accelerating as we approach the big day. We will hosting a Masters Rugby League festival in the afternoon that will feature an MP or two in the Political Animals team and we have the added attraction of our annual Real Ale Festival, which has proven to be a big hit with visiting fans. This year Friday Night Lights has received endorsements from Adrian Morley and Jamie Peacock imploring fans to take in the event and help grow the game in London” Real Ale Connoisseurs can visit Skolars website to read about the beers on offer. Just click here. The Masters and the Real Ale festival will get under way at 4.00pm and Skolar’s sponsors, Arriva, will once again provide a courtesy bus service to and from Wood Green Station before and after the event. Tickets are still available to purchase online at Skolars ticket office www.skolarsrl.com All in all a great way to kick off Challenge Cup weekend for Rugby League fans. |
