Any thoughts on who'll win division 4 , not seen promoted hindley but i believe there a good side and Leyland will do well with all there different ringers from one week to the next.
Hindley will be up there. Not the biggest, most physical or most aggressive side, but more importantly they're very well drilled and slick on the ball; they'll hit it at pace and have pace to finish in the backs and several forwards. Their defence is also well drilled and doesn't make many bad decisions. Only lost 1 game and the most they conceded in a game all year was 20 points. They're a young side but will be better for another year together.
Rochdale can be up and down - their first choice team will be hard to beat, a big side and hard to stop, but they seem to have some players who vanish for periods of the season (apparently the Fijians disappear for weeks on end!).
We played Hindley on Saturday in a trial.
Bit of a strange game really, we fielded 27 players (not at once). Hindley seemed to have a steady 19/20 lads. I think we lost 22-14, something like that.
They don't have the biggest pack, and EVERYTHING goes throught there 13, you keep him quite and I would say you keep Hindley quiet. They have a man mountain that plays left back row, very powerful young lad (used be at Wigan apparently).
There full back from last seaon who bagged something in the region of 30+ tries has left and now plays for us.
Looking at the league they will take some beating and should go up again....however I have no doubt with our strongest 17 we would turn them over (no disrespect meant by that). Having played Saddleworth last season on a day when there 1st team didnt have a game, I think they could upset the applecart depending on who drops on them in similar circumstances.
