Four sides of a square : Sun Mar 01, 2009 1:25 pm
The development going on at the moment at one end of the ground is the municpal swimming pool, which, when completed will be the foundation of the new stand. The local Mairie (Town Hall), in agreement with the Dragons financed this, as it was felt that the Dragons were very much involved with the local community and this would be a worthwhile "marriage" between the two. The Dragons seem to be far more committed to working with Perpignan to achieve a common goal than "those up the road". Further development will take place after the pool is completed, in order to provide a stand and seating, which should take the ground up to nearly 15,000.

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Yes, for a big match.

We sold out 10k v Wigan last year, did so on some other big matches. I expect we could have sold 15k in our playoff match if we had had the incentive. Our crowds are growing, 10k is starting to be restrictive for the big matches, but we are not running out of room on a regular basis ... yet.

I was under the impression that the next new construction begining in May, will be a new stand to replace the existing seating behind the posts -- at the opposite end to the swimming pool. That would raise capacity to 12,000.

Then, as I have been told, and the architect's plan presented publicly confirmed this, there was to be a total reconstruction of the little Guasch stand opposite the excellent Bonzom, a reconstruction which would be in the same form as the Bonzom, and raise stadium capacity to 14,000.

The fourth side of the development -- above the swimming pool --- was not in the original plan.

Can someone answer the following questions for me?

1. Will the proposed stand above the swimming pool be developed after the Guasch stand is redeveloped, or is its construction in place of the Guasch being redeveloped?

2. If the former, then will the proposed stand above the swimming pool only seat 1,000?

Your first couple of paragraphs tally with my understanding although I do recall plans for a small amount of standing accommodation at the baths end.
