In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11

Bird, 25, yesterday modelled his new Catalans jumper in the southern French city of Perpignan and is set to debut for the club on Sunday morning (AEDT) against Castleford in Super League.
Angry at his critics yet excited at playing again, Bird opened up to The Daily Telegraph, saying from France: "I'm just relieved to be over here and back in a football environment and back around a team again. I just want to play footy again.
"I'm enjoying it over here away from the constant harassment. I was over the judgmental people (in Australia).

Dont pin your hopes on Greg Bird to bring you success he is nothing but an overpriced, overrated poser. To small to be in the forwards and not skilled enough for #6. Although most #6's in the English super league are mere shadows of there Australian counterparts...

Have a read around the site and the board and you'll see that we've pinned nothing on Bird's shoulders and are quite scornful of the signing. Even if he turns out to be the greatest players on earth (not going to happen), I'll still be critical of this move.
