Great news, even though I am not a big fan of the Barcelona club (its a Cesc thing).

If they can make the grade in the Catalan Champs, could dispensation be given to get them in the French league for a better standard of competition?

Let's grab onto this, although Barca did similar with a cycling team but dropped it after a couple of years to stay with football and basketball.

I'd much prefer to see the Catalonia Championship grow and flourish. Maybe the Catalan teams could take part in the French cup in a few years time.

Fantastic news for the game in Catalonia.

With the usual rider of money and support (which is something of a given with the name Barcelona on the shirt), Catalonia could be a very dangerous European opponent at international level in say 10 years time. And Barcelona itself is a club you could build an entire league around.

Great to hear.

This part of the world has shown great promise for the game.

A lot of the Rugby League world (including myself) really want Catalunia to work for Rugby League.
