With Neil Henry's contract extension having been rescinded, the North Queensland Cowboys job is up for grabs and it appears that, with the backing of none other than Cam Smith, the front-runner is.... Kev Walters.

Keith 'Dallas' Johnson retiring. Knee knack.
We didn't get the best out of him. He's far more than a tackling machine.

Also, "After spending 2010 with English Super League club Catalan Dragons". English? Who knew?

I was just wondering what happened to old Kevin! As a Cowboys fan I can't say this appointment would whet the appetite for next year!

Yes, seriously one of the front runners.

I think that the Chairman of the North Queensland Cowboys, and the board, need to be informed of Kevin Walters' record with Catalans Dragons.

I think that this is overstated. In the TV interview I saw of Cam Smith, the Melbourne captain was rather lukewarm, saying words to the effect that Kevin is a good man, a Queenslander, and knows a lot of the players, but that he couldn't say if he was the best candidate for the coaching position. Rather unsupportive I would think given that Walters is currently Smith's assistant coach.

But maybe you have seen some other interview than the one I saw.

Mark Hughes has a brain tumour. Think it goes without saying that we all say "good luck, big horse"
