The only fault the RFL can be criticised for is giving into the "its now or never" language of Samuels. Crusaders have given the RFL another one: Wrexham or bust. The RFL are probably doing the right thing in agreeing to it, as they can hardly let another side in at such short notice, but I hope the Neath thing works and that they take the place of Crusaders in 2014.
There is, of course, the possibility that the Wrexham thing could work. All the other clubs that have failed have had dominant football teams in the locality. I know Wrexham FC is popular in that area, but it is dominant only because of the lack of an alternative.
What I can't understand is the desire to move back to South Wales in the long term. It doesn't sound like they are looking to grow a local fanbase. The Crusaders should accept they have lost South Wales, make a go of Wrexham, and leave Neath to it. If Wrexham doesn't work, let Neath take over.
