Just wanted to say well done to your reserves lads! And 13 Welshmen in there too. Excellent stuff!

Keep it up! (but obviously not against Saints  )

Under 18s beat Ince Rose Bridge to extend their winning run to 13 matches

and the Reserves beat a very good Leeds Rhinos 2nd string. Most importantly the backbone of the side are Welsh and look capable at this level and possibly more.

The future is very bright for Rugby League in Wales!

Ymlaen y Cru!

No, not yet but top three will do for us in our first season thanks.

I'll be at the Leigh Miners game next week and hope we can have a go, which I think we can do.

Not too worried about the result to be honest, it's about bringing players through.

We've beaten Leigh's first team home and away last year comfortably enough and have a number of players in the Under-18 set up that have represented GB U-18's and are playing for the reserves now so it's not all bad. :)

crucrucrusaders you were questioning my comments on the amount of first teamers playing against Leeds mate.
First of all I am not taking anything away from the win, it was a great game to watch, but it was men against kids to be honest.
Take a look on your own website when they announced the squad including first team squad members Mark Lennon, Aled James, Steve Tyrer, Geraint Davies, Tangata Toa, and Paul Ballard and I forget the other.
Now take a look at the leeds side and see ther were 5 under 18's, 10 - 19 year olds and a 20 year old. Ashley gibson was the only player over 21 !
They played the whole game without a recognised hooker, lost one key player on 20 mins, and then lost scrum half who had already scored 3 times with 20 mins to go
It was a good win for your team but it reallly was men against kids.

so what are they doing in the reserves? Surely the point of the reserves is to give games to players not picked for the first team, out of form, recovering from injuring etc etc. Surely the whole of the reserves should be potential first teamers otherwise why are they there? Surely your younger lads should be in your academy side? :(

It was also an experienced set up versus a new one. That's what all the fuss is about. JannerboyUK is also correct about his assumption. The fact is we played the best we had against the best Leeds had on the day and I'm sure the Leeds lads have been played rugby league for a lot longer than most of ours, despite the ages.

Either way it doesn't really matter if Leeds were under strength or Celtic are a new outfit. Nothing can be taken away from what is a sensational result for the Welsh boys.
