LONDON SKOLARS PRESS RELEASE
Joe Mbu Leaves Skolars 9th March 2015 London Skolars Board of Directors decided after last Saturdays Challenge Cup defeat against Swinton that they would release Head Coach Joe Mbu from his duties. The Club will now undertake a process to find a replacement. In the short term Dave Williams and Matt Cuss will oversee training and prepare the squad for their upcoming League fixture. Dave Williams is the current club Captain and Assistant Coach, Matt is the club’s Community Development Manager and one of the First teams’ Assistant Coaches. The Board wanted to give their thanks for the 5 years Joe has been part of the coaching team and as a former junior at the club he is arguably London’s most successful home grown player and coach. A gentleman and Skolar through and through. Hector McNeil, Non-executive CEO had this to say “I want to thank Joe for all his hard work and achievements at the club that have been considerable. He took the club to its highest ever position in the League narrowly missing out on a push for promotion. He has also built strong pathways and processes around the club burgeoning junior development pathways. Joe is a quality person and since he commenced as a junior has probably been the most successful player and coach the club has produced. Joe has served the club well and it was a very tough decision to see him go. He will always be welcome at the club. Joe should be very proud of his achievements with the London Skolars and I think he will go on to achieve great things in what he does next. He is a good personal friend of mine and I want to wish him the best of luck for the future.” Mark Croston, London Skolars Director said “Joe is one of the most respected people London rugby league has seen, he is also highly respected across the sport. He should be proud of his achievements at the club and will be missed by us all” For more information please contact General Manager, Angus Armstrong angusarmstrong@skolarsrl.com, 0208 888 8488 or visit www.skolarsrl.com. |
