Season Review : Thu Sep 16, 2010 10:39 pm
Bit of an up and down season, thought we finished in a position below our potential in the league but the playoff run at the end of the season will mean I'll look back on this year very fondly.

Highs:
- Toulouse away, one of the most enjoyable weekends of my life and an excellent performance and result.
- Wigan at home, ran them bloody close and just for a few minutes at 10-4, the boys had us all dreaming.
- Featherstone away, best performance of the season in my eyes.
- Leigh away (playoffs), never have I celebrated a try as much as when Bergin crossed, awesome, awesome feeling.
- Barrow away (playoffs), brilliant performance, brilliant win, made the journey home fly by.

Lows:
- Keighley away, cold, wet, depressing draw.
- Keighley at home, worst performance of the season, embarrassing.
- Barrow away (league), took ages to get there, got battered by 50, took ages to get back. Horrible, horrible day.
- Halifax away (playoffs), end of the dream.

yes,it was a good day/night in Toulouse - your boys played well and the fans were a friendly bunch - good to get together after the match,it's become quite a feature of the TO13 home matches over the past few seasons.Look forward to seeing you all again in 2011

I'll nail my colours to the mast now and say that I want Featherstone to win the final and that's got nothing to do with the recent issues between Sheffield and Halifax.

Firstly Featherstone this year have been a cut above the rest and really do deserve to clean up.

Secondly I am a big fan of Daryl - he was a good player and in my view is the best English coach outside SL. He should be given the chance to coach at a higher level and has the potential to be a future England coach (however there isn't much opposition).

A special mention to Batley and Karl Harrison too. What he's done with Batley this year in terms of getting a side crammed with more of less locals is brilliant.

The Eagles season? We have done better that last year so we cannot grumble too much. Massive challenges facing a lot of clubs financially next year but I don't think we will be one of those in financial trouble.

No you have put all that behind you now and have built a solid team, i hope you can maintain the same next year, I think the financial problems will hot lots of clubs who dont have big money backers next year and then a steady decline down from then.
