Groin injury in training.

Danny Mills broke his finger in training and Dane McDonald picked up a virus that a few players had earlier in the week.

If we had stuck to the game plan in the second half rather than the "wind Ged Corcoran up" plan we would have had 50

nah mate,if you read exactly what I said ie :

"not intended as a dig on the attendance figure, far from it " I was merely asking how a positive atmosphere could be generated from 1000ish spectators at a large sporting venue ! that's all - no criticism or sarcasm intended ! just a question thats all. The last time I was at Bramhall Lane would have been in the 80s with the Canaries away fans and the atmosphere was great with 25OOO ish fans - like many similar football grounds ie Carrow Road,Portman Road etc you are on top of the game.

How did Brendan play btw ?

don't know your area mate,it's not my neck of the woods - there has to be smewhere which would work out more economical for the Eagles surely ?

TO13 (& Catalans for that matter) seem to have the right idea tho'

TO13 have a stadium that will take about 2500 comfortably which is more than big enough and which gives a good atmosphere with between 500 - 1000 spectators but with a bigger stadium at their disposal (at Blagnac) not too far away if a higher capacity is required ie against Widnes in 2009.Catalans stadium is ideal with a great atmosphere for the current 7000+ average.
I can imagine TO13 playing at Stade Toulousain with it's 20000 capacity nearby but there would be hardly any atmosphere.
I recall having to sit out the Paris games at Charlety (with running track) with only a few thousand spectators at times and that was purgatory.

sorry about the 'h' - btw - i'm not used to dropping my 'h' s :)

Donny at the Keepmoat seems ridiculous !
TO13 ground at present is minute in comparison to the LSV,Bramhall Lane etc but does generate an atmosphere when 1000 or so turn up.

Yeah, can't believe no one's thought of that before... :WALL: :USTUPID:

Anyway on to the game, thought we were excellent in the first half, any team in the division would have struggled to keep us at bay. The two lads from Bradford looked very handy, I know it's an obvious choice but I thought Menzie was the man of the match, scored two, gave Finighan a walk in and absolutely DESTROYED two of their guys with huge hits. Second half we cruised and we could have had more, thought the second half was pretty boring to be honest. Toulouse were poor although I thought Ged stood out for them.

Brendan Worth - yes, he's a big unit. Played well in parts, but gave away some silly penalties.

As for Stadiums - the B2Net in Chesterfield is a 10,000 capacity Brand New Stadium. It's a nice set up & could be considered as a potential alternative when Bramall Lane isn't available and might be worth a go as an expansion experiment if promoted well enough. There are some excellent real ale outlets on Whit Moor (Red Lion, The Beer Parlour & Derby Tup) and only 20-25 mins from the Lane.

I agree the B2Net would be a good choice, if it was closer to Sheffield. The thing is, it's not Sheffield and how can we attract and keep fans from Sheffield if we do that? Same can be said for when Rotherham get their new stadium. We could go their for maybe NRC games, its closer but again, it's not Sheffield..
