As Rugby League fans you are well aware of the help and support the foundation gives to the Try Assist Fund. Here is a bit of information of were the money achieves that goes to the Pseudomyxoma Fund in The Christie Hospital. Donations made to the Pseudomyxoma Fund by the Steve Prescott Foundation is used in a number of ways. So far these have included the following: 1.To support families of patients who live a distance from the Christie, who struggle financially, to enable them to stay near the hospital during times of treatment 2.To assist with funding for the purchase of highly specialist surgical equipment used in patients with pseudomyxoma peritonei 3.To fund scientists and medical staff to carry out laboratory research into the treatment and causes of pseudomyxoma 4.To purchase computer software to enable complex statistical analysis of patient data 5.To fund members of staff to undergo specialist training and education 6.To fund staff to attend national and international conferences to enable the sharing of information between teams promoting improvements in treatments 7.Develop educational material for patients, carers and professionals to allow better understanding of treatment and outcomes in this rare disease Thank you once again for your continued support.
