Gateshead Thunder are sad to announce the death of former Club Director, Tony Kelly.

Tony was well known in rugby league circles in the North East. Tony worked tirelessly in the sport and over the years Tony has coached youth teams for Gateshead Panthers, Wallsend Eagles and Durham Tigers. Tony has been a stalwart of rugby league in the region over the last decade and it is fair to say that Tony made a fantastic contribution to the lives and skills of the players he coached.

Tony was involved with Thunder over a number of years and was a member of the club's Board during the time that the club was run by a dedicated group of supporters. In addition to this Tony has sold programmes, half time draw tickets and assisted the club on match days as a steward.

Tony will be sadly missed.
