The golden comedy oldies that stick in my mind are 'The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin', 'Fawlty Towers' & 'Rising Damp'. A little later, but I always liked 'Sorry' too ("Langauge Timothy").

Non comedy would be 'Twin Peaks' and 'GBH'. Until recently GBH was available on the Virgin Media On Demand service so I managed to watch the complete 11 (or so) hours of it. Just as good as I remembered with a rollercoaster ride for the emotions. Early appearances too from several modern day established stars, including a naked Amanda Mealing (Connie Beauchamp in Holby City)
