is there anybody that can advise on both an xbox and a 360, both have knack up this month
the xbox just won't play any games what so ever but there is a menu that you can flip through,
and the 360 starts up but has no picture, you can hear it flip through the menu once started, but its not visible, we managed to press y and hold the right trigger in and it came back for a day but has since gone back to its old ways. could you pm me if you can assist

Xbox most likely needs a new drive which is an easy enough swap.

The 360, do you have any error lights on the front? Would suggest trying a new AV lead first.

Had the same problem i think, the error report/code is with av cable, but it is actually the whole system that is broken. It is basically the stage before 'the ring of death'. If its under guarentee take it back and they will replace it. If not may be worth taking it to gamestation or another games store to get more advice.

no lights but trying to find a friend that can lend a lead to try that out but his mates arn't local , will have to wait until he gets to school, thanks for the reply

we bought an second hand elite today as I expect the other 360 is knack ed so looked at a fix to the problem we had with it, find that you can fix it with Xbox 360 XCLAMP Repair Kit With HQ Paste X CLAMP 3RROD of ebay and learned how to open it with this video http://www.5min.com/Video/How-to-Open-U ... x-360-6557 if it works good nothing to lose

pleased to say that the fix has worked so if any body has the same problem pm me and can pass on the info that I've learned
