You think it is realistic to say we can win 10 out of 13 home games?

we were just coming off the motorway at swinton when we heard him.he sounded like he was in his house. i think the GMR know he talks boll**ks as they couldnt wait to cut him off. i knew before the game yesterday it would be tough, i cannot see many teams coming away from the ASS stadium especially when they are at full strength. But i for one will still be at cas next week cheering on the reds. i think that we are like my beloved blue boys and cannot win away from home

Give your team time. This season will be an adjustment season and you've already had one win, which is better than Wigan, Warrington and Celtic!

I Thought we'd have a thread like this started. Feck its only the second game of the season alright we played sh*te but we need to learn from the mistakes and focus on the next game end of. I fail to see how people can say thats it same old sh*t and we will not win an away game.

For one minute I dont think we will be world beaters but as long as the team show commitment and improvement then I think we will pick up a few suprise wins home and away.

We play away games for parity. Not for any other reason.

It's not a mindset it's just being a realist. We, in theory, should have a better chance at winning home games which is why clubs will base their whole decision-making process on the back of Home and away performances. You start to lose more than two Home games on the bounce and fans start to question. Two away games? Not the same reaction. From a Clubs point of view targeting home fixtures makes real sense on many levels.

People are not suggesting you shouldn't attend away fixtures, it's just that in our position we are not looking to win many away games. We are a newly promoted side and we have not had a credible side that can challenge for anything for quite a while now in the top flight. Sorry to say, but true.

Can see where you're coming from but the problem with this attitude is that you are beaten before you take the field.Let's face it,there are certain away games where we dont have much of a chance but there are others, and I include Wakey and Cas,where if we go with a positive attitude, compete for the full 80,and get the odd 50/50 decision, where we could win.
Just targetting the home games can be a dangerous tactic as again there are a few matches we are highly unlikely to win, putting a lot of pressure on the other games.Lose a couple of these and we are in trouble as the team know that they won't win away.
If we go away with the attitude that we CAN win any away game then anything can happen. The home team might play poorly,we might get lucky with a few decisions,or we might play them off the park. But at least let's have a go
I know there is no relegation this season but we want to win as many games as possible and finish as high as possible in the league as this will breed confidence and increase interest in the club

Ellery on Ice? I think you're on something stronger than ice if you reckon we're going to win 9 home games or more this year Ellery?!

If we wonmore than half our home games and one or two away matches I'll be very pleasantly surprised.

13 points (as someone quotede above as our points total for 2004) would be a perfectly reasonable return IMHO.

Do you really go to watch Salford just to see us win?

Have you never enjoyed/appreciated a game in which we've played well but lost?!?
