I think like a few on these boards his lack of pace does limit his options.I don't think being a utility player is a bad thing ,Connor has most of the attributes of a top player,I like his style of play he can give back what he takes but tends to be to quick tempered at times.
His one major flaw and it is noticed by most critics is his lack of pace.Normally his pace would not be to much of a problem if he was quicker off the mark and I believe this could be rectified by a regular session with a speed coach.I cannot accept that as a young man people are trying to tie him down as a full back, centre etc his time will come of this I am sure.

I fear he will have to go elsewhere to progress, We seem to have some players who are played here, there and somewhere else, and other that are nailed on for their spot, even ones that are not and never will be anything special in any way.

I agree, I think he would have been a good fullback, But Brown saw him as a Centre and made him into a very good one, Brown seemed very good with individual players.

Very true, and it did Gilmour no favours, but he was a player getting to the end of his playing days. Our young players though benefited greatly, and some not so young were progressing also, It was a great shame about N Brown , everything seemed to fall apart in a very short time. Apparently all brought on by himself, allegedly.
