I was told last week that had offered Furner the job but he seemed to be wanting a higher wage to come over.

Furner knows the club is a very reliable steady guy but if I'm honest I wouldn't want another forward as coach. Just my opinion though.

Furner was never just another forward, always a good footballer.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

He had a very tactical mind - played a big role in us winning the 2004 GF

The next coach will not be appointed until we have confirmed a place in super league It will not be David Furner who I admire and would be a good choice. The new coach will be an even better choice and will be the best coach in super league.

Also I would have thought the fact the Sinfield would do all the press and things like that could be appealing to a coach? Not many of them seem to like this aspect of the job

But Sinfield is not good in front of the camera, his monatone voice comes over as a bit boring and his nervous interviews typically start with "Yeah...." followed by a lot of short meaningless phrases that do not reflect the reality. To keep pretending 'we have made giant strides' and 'we have improved the attitude of the players' is simply not borne out by the performances on the field. I would have expected more honesty.

If we do recruit a top coach the supporters will want to hear him speak directly and to be fair most Ozzie coaches are intelligent and verbally fluent.

Exactly and will also demand full control over recruitment and all aspects of the first team

It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

Which I’m sure they will get, but given that the current incumbent struggles to string a sentence together without swearing, we have little choice right now.

Come on we all know Sinfield is really the head coach now with Lowes as assistant.

I’m not sure any head coach gets full control over recruitment in any sport. I can see that they would put together a “shopping list” but they don’t get to dictate who is signed, unless they are Pep Guardiola...
