Campbell may believe he is in the right and has a case and may press it.
If he does, the RFL may have to hear it. I don't see owt wrong with that and that's why I couldn't understand your earlier post.
Fwiw I doubt any action will be taken but I've been wrong afoore

Taken from Leigh's official announcement of JD's signing:-

Leigh Centurions are aware of a press release published by Featherstone Rovers and can confirm that the Club is taking legal advice in respect of the release.

In light of the pending advice, the Club does not believe that it is appropriate to provide a substantive response apart from putting on record that it requested, on several occasions, the alleged contract between Featherstone and John Duffy. Despite these numerous requests, this has not been provided.

At no time did John Duffy sign a further contract with Featherstone Rovers nor did he verbally agree to remain their coach beyond the 2018 season. Further, on 20 November 2018, Featherstone terminated the original contract with him.

Therefore, John Duffy is not contractually bound to Featherstone.


I suspect the 'truth' of the matter probably rests half way between DB and MC's statements!

I believe the agreement between Campbell and duffs was only verbal and not set in stone so that will prob go in our favour

Let's just say, hyperthetically for arguments sake, a coach does not actually sign an extended contract, and once his current contract expires enquires at another club much nearer to home about a vacant coaching position.. What then?

As an aside and totally unrelated, Anyone remember Richard Whiting and an extended contract with Leigh, before hastily departing for Toronto?

My memory you know is not as bad as some may think it is.
