Wow! Action packed and with an ending that is somehow going to need "undoing" in upcoming Marvel films.

I predict that Dr Strange is the answer - he saw 14 million futures and in one of them, the Avengers won; *and* he can bend time...

Besides which, there is absolutely no way that Marvel would slaughter that many cash cows in one go - it's not Game of Thrones!

Solo - A Star Wars Story.

I really enjoyed this - it's neither necessary or especially compelling as part of the bigger picture, but it's really well made and very entertaining; for old school fans, seeing the actual Kessel run (in less than 12 parsecs) was thrilling, and by far the best cameo of the movie is from the Millennium Falcon itself - and the android activist is good fun.

Well worth a tenner - 8/10.

I, Tonya - this is a really clever way to tell a 'true story' that is actually recounted differently by the various protagonists involved; at times, a scene will play out, and a character will turn to the camera and say, "this never happened." It sounds clunky, but it's quite brilliant, and Margot Robbie absolutely nails the titular role.

Highly recommended - 9/10

Creed II
I thought it was fantastic, and probably a fitting ending for one of the great film characters of all time. The chemistry between the 2 main characters is superb, and it's the typical emotional roller coaster you'd expect from this franchise. You could hear everyone sobbing by the end
9/10

Alita - Battle Angel: Possibly a bit niche this one, given that it's adapted from a cult manga comic, but despite the churlish reviews and the YA flavour, I really enjoyed it - it's ultra violent, a bit soppy, and has a cracking narrative thread that keeps you interested throughout. And the 3D is actually tolerable, which I don't often say.

I gather it's been a bit of a convoluted journey to screen - James Cameron had it, but was diverted by the significantly less good Avatar - and although it sets up a sequel, I'm not sure that will happen, which is a shame. If you like manga flavoured sci-fi, ignore the reviews and give it a go. 8/10

Saw this yesterday, and I I loved it. It'll be a real shame if they don't finish the trilogy, as the story is very intriguing, which is an incredibly rare thing in big budget cinema.

That's a relief - I half expected to be derided for this, so I'm glad I'm not alone in really enjoying it.

I may have been too hasty sequel-wise - despite languishing since 2003, James Cameron has said recently that there will be a sequel, so maybe the story will get finished; if not, you could always buy the comics!
