KR v FC will always be the one that divides a city and the families within
Happens in the Wigan Saints derby too especially in the neighbouring villages like Haydock. The two grounds are 9 miles apart (Hulls are 6) and we are seperated by a hill. Well a street actually and there is plenty of crossover in terms of Wigan post code but St Helens address and vice versa. It is hardly Utd v Liverpool or any of the London games. I know plenty of families that are both sides and there will be plenty of them live this side of the hill and vice versa.
The big giveaway really whether you believe the Earl of Derby or not is that every league match since 1991 and every match since 1994 have been televised. Even in 2005 and 2006 when the result was known well in advance it was still shown on tv. BBC in 05 showed a 75 0 walkover. Why? Because it has by far the biggest draw. Yes perhaps your game would have bigger pull if you were at the right ends of the table year after year but as above even in 2005 we were on tv. If we kicked off at 4am on a Tuesday we would be on tv.
Anyway, back to the topic....Eddie should have gone with Stevo. Been past it years.
