Not sure why we keep revisiting this, we were desperate for a quality half, we managed to sign one, but given the comments from KF on how he had to be coerced over it was clearly a risk.
It didn't work out, Roberts wasn't happy and didn't have the strength of character to be able to put in a shift every week.
Roberts did the right thing, holding his hand up and going home, it allowed us to bring in Austin and now Widdop for 2020, he could quite easily have carried on pocketing a £300k+ per year till the end of his contract.
At the end of the day, it seems to have worked out for both parties.
