Embarrassing and worrying from Sinfield. To describe the club as that publicly shows he’s either out of his depth or too arrogant/egotistical for the role at the moment.

What do you want him to say, everything’s OK?

He’s only said what most people on here have said about the club for the last few years yet when he says it he’s being arrogant, weve been a bottom 4 club for 3 out of the last 4 season, theres obviously something deep rooted as he’s says

Its odd though isn't it. Whilst there's a lot of talk about backroom staff etc, in the end there's a squad of 20+ players and some coaches, fitness/medical people and that is the core of the side. That's a very self-contained unit, and I find it very hard to believe that a decent set of management couldn't sort out some of the crud fairly quickly.

Post the London game, I'd focus first and foremost of getting rid of any rotten eggs in the squad from a morale perspective. We aren't playing like a team and look like a bunch of individuals most of whom don't care if we win or lose. Any serial whingers or troublemakers need to be got away from Headingley and never let back, regardless of the cap or other issues. Whilst we have rumours about who these may be, I'd bet big money that pretty much everyone closely involved with the squad knows exactly who they are.

My only question is whether GH should push Sinfield aside for a while and retake the reins. Sinfield has zero experience, which would be OK if we were going well, but its virtually unheard of for such a tyro to be able to cope with the man-management disaster we're currently in. Even if not announced publicly, I get the impression that Sinfield may have become as much part of the problem as we hoped he'd be the solution.

Just seen sinfield interview. Wow. Full of contradictions. Told all new coach applicants that the club is fully behind agar for now. Wow. Relegation here we come if that's the strategy. Sinfield looks lost

Didn't see Sinfield's interview but if the club's rotten, where are the big and essential decisions that such a scenario would require? Other than sacking Furner and making the odd decent signing with plenty more questionable ones he appears to have done nowt to put matters right. If it was rotten when he took up the reins then I see no reason why it wouldn't still be now.

I'm gobsmacked really. He says we need stability so why sack Furner and not get a move on with replacing him with a top class coach?!!? If he thinks agar can turn it round hes sadly mistaken and is doomed for failure

The rumours will come out soon about Furners sacking .It seems strange to me that a coach uprooting a d travelling with his family halfway round the world expecting to be here for 3 years and gets the sack after 14 games for not immediately getting results out of a team that has been poor long before he came . The Rotten that the DOR refers to did he expect Furner to rectify it after 14 games ?

From what I hear Furner’s position was no longer tenable. Think Brian Clough and you’re not far off. Put too many noses out of joint.

It’s quite clear to me what the problem is. The success since 2004 was built on a generation of players that hasn’t been replaced. Many of them were leaders. Now they’ve all gone. The players left are the bit part players who enjoyed success off the back of those greats that have gone. They’re not capable of doing what the likes of Sinfield, Peacock, McGuire etc did. You have a player as captain who really shouldn’t be expected to carry the team and recover from a serious injury but there are no other obvious leaders.

You’ve blown salary cap on players that are either injury prone (Hurrell), mediocre (Merrin) or just plain poor (Lolohea).
