Seems promising on the face of it.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/rugby-leagu ... deal-ever/

I think the last deal was £900k per year, this is suggesting double that so around £1.8M. An extra £75k to each of the clubs will go down well I imagine.

Good to see it in place well ahead of the start of the new season and follows on the back of Dacia extending their deal too.

this could pay for extending to full 14 teams and getting rid of these stupid loop fixtures.

My read of it is that SL wants to expand to 14 clubs, but was restricted by the current TV deal and not wanting to dilute the money to more clubs. I agree I'd like to see expansion to 14 at the next TV deal

We put this festival on you ba****ds
With whole lotta love
We worked for one year for you pigs
And you wanna break our walls down
And you wanna destroy
Well you go to hell

Great news, been a good few weeks for the game and a nice positive article in one of the Nationals to go with it. Little surprise there's few comments on this topic.

Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

How does this deal compare to those of a few years ago (prior to ludicrous Stobart free of charge debacle)?

On the face of it good news, certainly heading in the right direction.

However its the SKY TV deal that's the one which will see which way the sport is heading. Would love to see a massive hike in income from the television rights. Let's hope.

I had a search but couldnt find anything regards the Engage deal, which I think as the biggest deal prior to this one, I have in my head that was approx £1.3m but couldnt swear to it.

The TV deal will indeed be the big one. I'm hoping to see an increase in value on the back of more games being shown live, it's critical to the future of the game.

Think everyone wants 14 clubs except 11 of the 12 clubs. Toulouse and one other probably Toronto (not convinced by Toronto, could all fall apart too easily, and not earned there stripes like Toulouse a second french club long overdue.)

It’s actually 10 of the 12 clubs as saints and Warrington have nothing to fear

The fans, the members, the people there.. from the day I stepped foot onto that field at the AJ Bell Stadium,I knew I would love that club for the rest of my life. "Jackson Hastings"..

The multimillion-pound agreement with the bookmaker, which is owned by rugby league fan Fred Done

Not quite sure where that one comes from as the Salford born multi millionaire has been asked to get involved with Salford since John Wilkinson was at the helm, he would rather see us go to the wall than help with a single penny.

His one and only interest beside making money is MUFC
