Campaigning for a deep attacking line

Should we not be applauding that?

Yes, but let’s not pretend it’s a conscious decision on the part of Championship/League 1 clubs. It’s because they’re often part time and can’t get 3/4 players into every tackle to slow it down and maintain a set defensive line.

It’s a pro for the game at that level but it also makes the games significantly easier to referee.

Bradford were awarded a try where the ball clearly hit the sideline as well as the try-line at the same time (https://youtu.be/RpRysr-8JMs?t=66). Fax were also denied a legitimate try just before half time for grounding the ball before the try-line, but the TV footage (on Sky) clearly showed that the player's momentum took the ball over the line without any loss of control or double-movement.

Nothing has been made of this because Fax won the match anyway, but this was an 8 (or possibly 10) point swing due to incorrect refereeing decisions.

If we have games on TV (with the replays from multiple angles that follow) then we should have a video ref whether it's SL or below regardless.

No aspersions being cast at the officials for either decision (in real time" they're both hard to see), but it does show that they need help to make the right ones sometimes.
