Behind the sticks at Halifax is somewhere that the home fans are able to see and judge forward passes and offsides. Strangely however they are blind, when it comes to their own side.

I know very few home fans that ever see their own team offside it's always the others.
Never been in the "stand" upper level at trailfinders though so cant compare.
When am not involved I tend to stand at the side by the second pitch or behind the sticks, I dont like getting too high or away from the pitch. When I go to games as a neutral at other grounds I spend a lot of time watching where the ref is positioned so behind sticks sometimes is better for that.

Gus Mackay we salute you!!

If you are more interested in watching the game (rather than the ref) the upper tier of the ST holders stand has a great view.

It certainly does and gives a totally different perspective of the game. Maybe you should join the people up there and see why they dont reckon the refs very much.

Or could stay closer to the action and see what's actually going on rather than calling things from 80 mtrs away

Interesting that the coaches go for a high position on the half way line as the best vantage point yet being in a similar position on the opposite side is not. Have you advised Danny Ward he's in the wrong place also?

But he's not there to admire the officials.

Quite funny how he can see so much more than the coaches and those in the stands on half way (even more so when he's behind the sticks and has possibly the worst view then)

Don't understand why Sky don't ask him to carry a camera for ref watch given he has such a good view or why Sky put some of their cameras anywhere other than where he is.

JESUS WEPT :WALL: HOW MANY TIMES?????
£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT:

They did......and they offered to pay the club for this service, so St Dave of Swinton immediately said "no", as it might have made us 1% less reliant on his benevolence.

Difference with coaches sitting high up is they are looking at patterns of play looking for chinks in play.
What I find interesting is the fan sat at back of stand shouting at the ref for holding down when they cant hear the surrender or dominant call. Or same fan sat in the stand who can judge a knock on from 80 mtrs away better than the refs that are 10 mtrs away
