Remaining Games : Mon Jun 10, 2019 8:02 pm
Matches are now running out to save our SL status and we are in a losing run, and as our points for and against is only 21 points better than London, and 88 points worse than Leeds who have 2 league points on us ,we will need 2 wins more than Leeds to overtake them. With only 12 games left that looks unlikely. The simple fact is we must start winning now, not later, now, and absolutely must beat London in both our matches against them. If we do that London will have to win 3 games more than us, and if that happens we deserve to go down.
We don,t seem to have a leader barking out orders and at times look demoralised and disorganised with few set plays near the opposition line.
TS has a real job to do, just hope he can do it.
We need some luck with no more major injuries and some 50/50 calls to go our way, which all teams need. There is enough quality to survive SL in this team. It,s time to start showing it.

I mentioned to a pal at the game yesterday that I reckon 3 wins will be enough....as long as 2 of them are against London. Should London beat us in either or both our games then it’s squeaky bum time.

Really dont think we will finish bottom, But I also think this year has made Hudge realize this is now not acceptable any more. We have better Crowds, Facilities and more Cash than others sat Mid table.

If tony Smith can’t do it nobody can so let’s hope he can because I think if we go down again we will not come back

Absolutely we do, on form we’d push 10k crowds, but even languishing at the bottom we average 8k which is better than a most in this country. The money that comes in from events etc. Should be doing far better on the field with all the off field resources.

For me on Sunday there was absolutely no organisation. Players were stood in a group behind the play the ball not in an offensive line like Wigan. No-one was directing operations. Our first receiver was taking the ball standing still. They should be starting their run 10 yards behind the ruck and taking the ball at full speed. Our players weren't fighting to stay on their feet when tackled. Or was Wigan's tackling technique superior to ours? Wigan's play the ball was so much quicker as well. In addition; I don't think that we looked fit. Discuss.

There were the usual issues last week but three things typified why we lost.

1. We were already in the changing rooms in the last 5 mins of the first half and let in TWO tries
2. We get a scrum near their line in the second half and lose the ball in the first tackle because we're too paniced/excited - a problem all season
3. In defence the line takes two steps then waits for them. The whole group needs to pressure the opposition more but keep organised - cut down their options.

Yes the ref was terrible and our disallowed try could have been the difference but these are three examples of what we can control in terms of how we play.

Agree with most of this, I think Wigan slowed our PTB down very well to gain an advantage in defence, something we never do.
Test how far the ref is willing to be pushed before penalising, surely that’s amateur level stuff?
Once again (& I’ve said this since the first game of the season) we failed to pressure the kicker. Even an average kicker will look ace if they have all the time in the world, again amateur level stuff.
Decision making- when to pass/hold or kick is so dumb at times.
I’ve slated Drinkwater for a lack of organisational skills but watching him carry the ball & not seeing any teammates run off him is a reflection on the rest, not him.

Loads to improve on & not much time til the all important London game I’m afraid.

Lose to Wire then a Thursday away game in London who seem confident
Lose there and it becomes a death spiral

You could emulate a side losing 11 on the trot
