I’m pretty sure Annakin has always been used as a prop, or a loose forward doing the work of a prop...he carries it strong and is a straight down the middle man when carrying the ball and when defending...I can’t say I’ve ever seen him running or defending the edges...it’s such a shame he never fully realised his academy potential because he was an outstanding 13 in that grand final winning academy team...head and shoulders the best player in that season from any team I’d say...

Just like to say too that Wrencats post is absolutely bang on the money in every way! We just need to scrape any kind of win we can and get confidence back up...we’re gradually getting the cogs in the wheel back...if Bill and Ashurst are back that will be a tremendous lift for Friday...the left edge that’s cost us so much misery...our go forward in the pack is slowly coming back...Fifita, Pauli, Tanginoa...the left edge is the last piece of the jigsaw for me...as I say we just need any kind of win then all of a sudden the next three games look winnable!

I’m pretty sure he hasn’t, he has played at prop don’t ever recall him at loose forward? Mostly though it been SR.

Anyway the point is that it was in the back row where the cracks first appears imo. Yet instead of bringing back a presumedly fit and experienced player we have persisted with Kirmond who’s twice failed to complete a game and Ashurst and Batchelor who appear to be not fully fit, it’s that I don’t get.

I’m happy for Anakin to play prop if needed, my point though is he was as far as I can see required weeks ago for the back row.

It’s not just the props who can’t punch their way out of a paper bag :D

Thats the baffling thing for me FCap.
Maybe - and I dont know of course - a fallout with CC?
I always think he gives 100% and also has the added bonus of getting under the skin of the opposition!

Honestly vastman

Your obsession with Annakin not being a prop for the last half dozen years on here is truely comical

Annakin has always being a prop
He always plays prop, all be it sometimes has played at lock
But he is still a prop

Seriously you have to let it go

Regarding playing Chris
He needs to be playing this weekend, that I agree with you on, he will give his all as he always does, I actually think the team and the fans really need his high impact pacey style more than ever at the moment

Sorry but you are ill informed Musson, I like Chris at prop, I think he does a good job and I am not of the opinion that he is too small but to suggest he has always being a prop? I`ve known Chris for a very long time and have watched him from been a young lad - He was stand out in an academy side playing majority of his games at 13 and a few in the second row, same when he signed his first pro deal with us and went to Whitehaven and Fev on dual reg, he played in the Second Row. Believe it or not was stand out for College at Centre and had pace to burn, he still has a lot of pace for his size.

Agree though, he should have been called upon in the last few weeks, not too sure why he hasn't.

I must not be watching properly either.
Although he was excellent at 13 in the colts/academy team I've only ever seen him play prop with a couple of 13s.
Ive never seen him play SR in Super League.

Apart from the Vastman bit (please grow up). I have no obsession with Annakin other than why he isn't playing.

I suppose it's your definition of prop. I have seen him prop but more often he comes on to replace a S/R though I concede he does tend to play like a prop when on.

He's never played 13 at SL level as far as I recall, which has always seemed odd because unless I'm wrong that was his position as an academy player, he certainly wasn't a prop at that age.

Annakin must be one of the most mis-managed players at the club, who that's down to I don't know. Chester must be his 4th? coach at this level and none seem to know what to do with him though they do keep signing him. Very strange.

I remember him playing 13 against Catalan away when he put a great long pass in for a try.

It can't be a mismanagement thing across 4 different coaches. Personal development is 90% yourself.

True.

FWIW I think the problem for Chris is that they just didn’t persist with him as a 13, who that was down to I don’t know. I concede his skill set may have been lacking at the time I don’t know but he has ticker and in time I think he would have made a fist of it. Where as he will never be a SL prop not these days where size is all.

Interested to know where Dewsbury?? Play him?

Dewsbury play him at prop. He’s played there a few times for us but he’s mostly been used at 13, normally off the bench. Although when he first broke into the first team he did get the odd game in the second row, seem to remember him getting a try at a magic weekend game from that position. Mostly though he is a ‘middle’.
