But the team that wins the GF are the champions.

The regular season is essentially one big qualifying process. We can debate whether that should be the case, but that's just facts.

The clue is in the title “League Leaders Shield”. Super League has weekly rounds and play offs leading to Grand Final Winners. It’s been discussed far too often on here.
