Bags larger than an A4 piece of paper will not be permitted entry. Staff will be using a 'bag gauge' outside the ground to check any bags that look bigger than this. I showed this to my Mrs. "A good job you're not coming" probably wasn't my wisest statement ever!...She does have a big handbag to which I was referring...honest! Looks like I'll be making me own tea!!

Rules such as this have nothing to do with security and everything to do with making more money out of you.

Will it cost me money to leave an item at the Wembley Stadium bag drop off facility?
"Yes, there will be a £10 charge per item for using the bag drop facility.

What about larger bags of merchandise from the stadium store?
"The policy does not include merchandise bags from the stadium store. These merchandise bags will be permitted into the stadium as they are clear plastic and sealable bags."

Ridiculous... Take your stuff in a carrier bag and drink eat and be merry outside the stadium..

It says that the restricted bag size is done to speed up security checks. However, in practice I fear it will do the opposite. Not everyone will be aware of the restrictions, consequently there will probably be heated arguments and delays at the gates.

I've been in with a rucksack (not a large camping one) without any problems. They seem to be more interested in pouring drinks (even bottles of water) into plastic cups, though.
