Good luck to the lad. Itll be interesting to see whether or not hes got the skill set to operate around their contested scrums and rucks.

Just been linked along with Richie Myler might be a complete rumour. Patton could learn alot off Widdop so he might stay for another year?

For me Patton needs to leave the club to have any chance of progessing. For me, and ive said it so much on here. He isnt good enough for the required level we aspire to be at, i.e winning the championship!! I wanted him to be the homegrown superstar, like everyone else. But it aint happening im afraid. If he goes, good luck to the lad......

Completely agree with Longbarn Wire on this, it’s time to move on for him. He’s unlikely to play at all or be a bit part player in his preferred position for the next 2/3 years. I’d rather give Riley Dean the opportunity to fill in if Widdop/Austin isn’t fit at any point next year. Also, Ratchford & Livett can cover if needed at half back.

+4 ...he is a solid kicker of the ball and can tackle.... perfect union player really.

he would get a nice pay rise as well i imagine.

wouldn't blame him for looking to move on... just not quite good enough.

Yeah, think everyone wanted Dec to make it, reckon he would be a good squad player but that equally would restrict opportunities for Riley Dean as others have said. Wish him the best if he is to go, thought he was good @ Wembley, but he needs to be playing first choice at his stage.
