I can't remember a time when any public-owned business performed better than its current counterpart. There performance was so bad it brought down Callaghan's government - people we so sick of under investment and union interference. I can't remember a time since privatisation that I haven't had access to water, electricity and gas - the most annoying thing is the amount of roadworks going on whilst they sort out the underground infrastructure such is the level of investment by these private companies in the network. As for the mail seems to keep getting delivered. One thing is for such performance will drop off, investment will dwindle unless you want to pay 33% basic tax rate which will see most people homeless as they wont be able to pay either rent or their mortgage.

I work with the major utilities on a daily basis. They are all a total and utter uncoordinated, inefficient shambles. The reason there are so many roadworks is the complete lack of maintenance in the years since privatisation, meaning the infrastructure is failing everywhere.

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

Of course it is these pipes that have been there since their inception - the sewage in London dates back to Victorian times - it was under public ownership for decades without major investment. The same applies to much of the utility infrastructure.

What about the NHS, would you like to see that privatised too?

Privatising water, electricity and gas is ridiculous, there is no choice to be made, water is water, electricity is electricity and gas is gas. Now we just have more fat cat bosses, shareholders taking dividends while doing absolutely nothing, all paid for through higher bills.

I've now got a few days free thanks to the left-wing pro-EU establishment voting against a recess for the Tory conference. The tigress wasted £80 on a new pink rinse.

Rachel Johnson when asked who's behind her brother's behaviour.

"It could be Cummings advising the PM to be extremely aggressive...it could be people who have invested billions in shorting the £ in the expectation of a no-deal Brexit."

His own sister.

with no personal agenda...

Johnson was a member of the Conservative Party from 2008 to 2011, but later joined the Liberal Democrats in the run up to the 2017 general election because of the Conservative support for Brexit.[22] Johnson then considered becoming a Lib Dem candidate in a seat in the West Country, but was barred under the Party's rules, having been a member for less than a year.[22][23] Following the Grenfell Tower fire, Johnson expressed the view that Theresa May was also a victim of the fire "because she can do nothing right".[24] In April 2019, she joined the new anti-Brexit party Change UK and was the lead candidate on the party list in South West England at the 2019 European Parliament election.[25] She later lamented this decision, describing herself as the "rat that jumped onto a sinking ship" and criticised the party leadership's focus group attitude to decision making structure and added that Change UK was a "terrible" name

If he keeps on saying that the High Court ruling was wrong, he should be held in contempt.

How can someone who wants to "take back control" argue against a ruling of a court that is so "sacred" to his belief.
This would seem to blow holes in his Brexit argument, which wanted our High Court to be the ultimate lawmaker.

He wanted Parliament to be in control and yet, has no respect whatsoever for it's need to sit, or, to abide by its decisions.

The bloke is THE ultimate hypocrite and thankfully, wont be Prime Minister beyond November.
(mind yo, we could end up with Corbyn or Farage)

We used to have a post office the envy of the world,

British Gas was a world leading energy company.

British Telecom lead the world in telecomunications (world first digital network) and Cable and Wireless controlled most of the worlds international telecomunications.

All as state run industries.

Today the post office is hollowed out with vastly reduced service, British gas is a shadow of its former self, BT is now a decade behind technologically with other international telecoms providers, and Cable and Wireless as all but ceased to exist.

Privatisation obviously worked wonders.

I don’t know which parallel world you lived in but it had connection to reality.

To get a phone took weeks, the digital network was installed by Ericsson the Swedish private company. the postal service was under invested and manual

So does the fact that you only get one postal delivery a day an issue. Do you really have telecommunications issues or does what BT now offer dwarf anything the public company could ever offer and do you have issues getting a cheap reliable source of gas to your house?

One you privatisation has created is choice and increased investment which is what happens when you introduce competition. Those who hanker after bygone days don’t really remember those days
