It would have been funny to witness, but they've got to think of Hicks' mental state in all of this. He would have been under unfair pressure following what happened after the Cup final, much the same position he was put in by ITV airing that PR piece in the week running up to the game. It's common sense to remove him from Saints games for a while until it's died down and he's not been close to being the best referee this season. Kendall thoroughly deserves it, he's done plenty of televised games and his recent games have all passed without flare ups and without a Twitter storm about his decisions. You now there has been a good refereeing performance when people are raging on Twitter about performances, gutless players and team selections and the like and not refereeing decisions.

Now it's ITVs fault. Brilliant. What a load of codswallop - Kendall best ref my eye. Be hilarious if he makes a genuine mistake that costs Saints the title....it'll be another young man's career sidelined by a petulant, childish multi-millionaire. For the love of all that is good in this world COME ON SALFORD!!!!

The best referee should get the GF

If that was agreed by the relevant authority to be Hicks then he should get the gig. Understand what you are saying Saddened but it potentially sets a dangerous precedent with clubs being able to influence referee selection for games. What has caused this is is the disgraceful outbursts from your chairman who has now got his way and also made a complete bottom of himself in the process and the game.

Is it true that Wolfie will be at Old Trafford on Saturday giving out McManus face masks along with bags of sour grapes??

Why what happened after the final...to the many neutrals out there he reffed it very well so well saints won the penalty count 4-2...so hicks as to be punished cos your spoilt chairman didn't get his own way...what a club....

Hicks didn't deserve to get the final and hasn't got the final. It's as simple as that.

I assume McManus stopped Hicks getting all the other games in the play-offs too? Like Cas-Wire (Kendall), Cas-Salford (Thaler), Saints Wigan (Kendall) and Salford-Wigan (Thaler)?

Hicks reffed poorly in the CC final and has found himself out of contention for the big games at the end of the season as a result. It's all very simple.

Hicks hasn't been given any big games since the final because of the quite frankly disgusting behavior of McManus, it would have been unfair to have put him in that position.
