Wasn’t he in charge of defence when we last got relegated? If I’m correct that’s a real concern.

Tony Smith coached him as a player and this is the third time he has been his assistant coach. I presume he knows all his attributes and failings by now.

It’s easy to form very firm opinions about people without any actual facts or first hand information. TS obviously is a very poor assessor of people’s coaching abilities. He really must start consulting with the contributors to this forum before making any decisions.

Tony Smith did do the same thing twice by appointing him as his assistant at both Leeds and Warrington so he obviously didn't expect different results.
