Golden Boot 2019 : Sun Nov 17, 2019 3:29 am
The Golden Boot list of candidates has been reduced to a shortlist of three. There is no Englishman, Welshman, Scotsman, or Irishman in the short list.

Kiwi pair Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves plus Tonga star Siosiua Taukeiaho are the final three players in the running, with the winner to be announced on Sunday.

Two of these three now play for the NRL champions, the Sydney Roosters. The third candidate, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck used to play for the Sydney Roosters but now plays for the New Zealand Warriors.

I think the Tongan is the most deserving but would have no quibble with RTS receiving the award.

I agree. It should be either Siosiua Taukeiaho or Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.

Thank goodness it won't be Kevin Sinfield again.

Why do you have to respond to a legitimate post about an important news item in our game with a personal attack of the most obscene kind -- applauded by a Wakefield fan?

Is this part of the local culture in Leigh and Wakefield?

This should be a time for reflection and celebration of the great talent we have in our game. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck isn't even the best player in the world today (James Tedesco deserves that status) but as a Dally M winner in 2018, and based on his NRL performances as well as his international performances in 2019, RTS is certainly worthy of being classified in the highest realm of talent. This is a great decision, even though Tonga's prop forward Siosiua Taukeiaho, who was the runner up, also deserved some form of recognition.

I made no comment on Leigh or Wakefield fans in this thread until after two of them launched an unprovoked obscene personal attack on me. Why can't you stick to discussing the thread topic? Don't you have any interest in events in our game that don't involve boosting your clubs (Leigh and Wakefield) or putting down the expansion clubs (Toronto, Catalans, Toulouse)? It seems not.
