And what did your beloved Kelvin Skerrett ever do in a GB shirt? What more was he than an intimidating prop forward who ran around punching people and getting sent off?

I’m sorry but you can’t sit there and back Skerrett to the high hilt who was overly aggressive and violent to intimidate opponents and was sent off regularly whilst slating Morley for getting sent off once v Australia.

Why do you say hes my 'beloved Kelvin Skerrett'.

Andy Platt was a far better all round prop than Skerrett. Skerrett was more along the lines of Morley, intimidating and rough hence why i thought he should be brought in to help 'toughen up' our forwards and i was proven right with the displays they served up at the end of the year when they lacked any fire and enthusiasm.

Hard to take your opinion onboard when your only take away of Morley is a sending off offence.

Can you remember a GB game where he stood out or changed the game in a positive way? In the era Morley played, Britains best props were IMO always Fielden, Peacock, Barrie Mac and Terry O. The only thing that comes back to me when i think of Morley in a GB shirt is the sending off.

Just to be clear, i am not saying Morley was a bad player he wasnt. He was a decent player but this worship of him as some kind of Prince of props is way OTT. Save the gushing for props like Webke, Platt, Lazurus, Ward, they were really truly world class props.

No you said he was overrated. So..

-I outlined who he was rated alongside of. I asked if you thought that was fair, you then listed a few props who you thought were better.
-I then used a few stats to show how Morley was more than worthy to be talked about in the same breath as Peacock, Graham, Sam B etc; you didn't acknowledge it.
-You then made some comment about Morley high tackling....I pointed out other top players who had also been found guilty of going high; and pointed out how it's difficult to take onboard someone's option who's only comment on Morley is a high tackle.

No one said he was the 'prince of props' you've literally just decided to say that. You're constantly try to chop and change to shape the conversation to suit yourself; another example would be trying to get me to name a game where he stood out for GB, instantly disregarding the rest of his career; this doesn't do you or your credibility on here any favours.

Truth is Morley is rated; and rated highly as one of the best British props in recent years. Which I think is fair; he's not overrated.

He was a dirty thug, Take that out of his game and he was as standard as Stephen Holgate.

Nothing more than a dirty scummer

Remember when he tried to take a very young Eamon O'Carroll's head off but came away with a broken/fractured face, I cheered out loudly and laughed my head off when it happened, Karma is a bitch

Thank you. I wouldnt go as far with the description but yes, when you strip away the aggression, he was quite average. Add the aggression and it just made him a decent player (if dirty). Warrior is now trying to back peddle after gushing over Morley as the best prop to ever set foot on planet Earth. He wasnt, far from it.

Your description matches Ryan Bailey not a player who's successes include:

53 caps for GB and England
Challenge Cup winner 99, 09, 2010, 2012
NRL Prem winner 2002
WCC winner 2003
SL winner 2005
First British player to win both NRL and SL championships.

You say he's overrated? I think that says more about your knowledge and not Morley as a player.

 it was a big collision where they clashed heads and Morley came off second best. Great moment for O'Carroll but we don't need to invent that Morley was trying to take his head off.

Go on then, if you're saying they didn't clash heads, how did he fracture his eye socket? If you admit they did clash heads, how can he possibly have been trying to make a high tackle at the same time?

I said Morley was a good player, average/decent if you strip away his aggression.

Over rated as in not the truly world class player he is made out to be. Just because he won a lot of trophies does not mean it was simply down to him being a great player. It means he was in decent teams at the time.
