This thread tells you all you need to know as to why Trinity struggle so hard to make the next step up.
I don't know much about this lad or even if we are interested but he looks the part, what I do know is that the moment a team like Leeds start sniffing we are usually sunk.
It's no coincidence that nearly all our Aussies have been midseason signing usually smuggled in under the radar, most of whom had been languishing in reserve grade.
I bet MC/CC would love to make a raft of pre-season signing known to the public just in time for season ticket sales but I suspect they just can't.
It's not just the money though that is the key factor, its also about prestige and results that turn players heads and compared to Leeds we are a million miles away.
Imagine there you are in Oz and you google Headingley and the Rhino's, I suspect you are impressed, you already know Leeds are a top team from a big city but this just confirms it. Then you type Trinity and BV, well need I say more.
We have two quota spots, we may have a bit of cash I don't know but we have zero pulling power especially after last years debacle. Jai Field would have to be insane to choose us ahead of Leeds. If by some chance he is on our list and we do sign him its because nobody else was truly interested. Doesn't mean he won't commit to the team just that we will have been the last option.
It's not all bad and often works in our favour but when it comes to really building a squad and a club profile it's our Achilles heal it really is.
