First game was in 1967, and have been hooked since day 1. Now live in Vancouver, Canada but follow our team any way I can.
“Up The Comics !”

I am here in sunny Pennington and heading to Swinton, well Sale, to watch our beloved team.
Any ideas of a good place for a pint before the game ?
I have never been to Sale FC so don’t even have a historic memory to draw on for a good pub.
Also is the ground open access once inside or do the away species have to go in at a certain end or entrance ?

Hello,

I've never been for a drink around Sale before the game

This is a list of pubs in Sale, the closest to the ground is the Little B., everything else looks like a bit of a stroll.

https://whatpub.com/search?q=Little+B%2C+Sale&lat=53.41732&lng=-2.320468&features=Open%2CPubClub%2CRealAle&r=10&t=d&p=1

When I last went it was open access, you could move around the ground, even talk to the players not selected, or as happened to me almost get your shoulder broken by a simple friendly tap from Lee Hansen.

I do recommend the club house that is at the actual ground though, good beer selection and food when I last went and friendly (2nd only to Batley if I'm honest).

Last time we went, visited the one at the Brooklands Metrolink stop, which is a 5 minute walk to the ground.

Thanks Deeks and Budge.
I have seen the Brooklands recommended on another website. I will give it a try and leave enough time for pint at the ground also.
Really looking forward to the game. I’ve not seen them in person since Toronto a couple of years back.

And just to think, somewhat ironically, that we moan about a Canadian team in our league, being unable to play home matches, at this time of the year!
