Its ALWAYS our year

Est.1876

Sent to me from heaven... You are my world.

1876 - 2022

BUM BANGERS SINCE 2012

Castleford - Make or Break : Tue Mar 03, 2020 12:53 pm
For me, I feel this could be the most important game of our season. Struggling for form and just off the back of a hiding from Leeds where we looked like we would have struggled to get past a pub team.

The response we put out on Friday will show us exactly what sort or character, pride and passion this current first team has for the club.

for me, it will also confirm Price's job. If he can't get the players to turn last week around into a full 80 minute ruthless performance then it's time the club part ways with him.

If we get pipped by an unlucky bounce or a DG or a pice of individual magic I can deal with that, it's the manner in which we win and lose that interests me; but another game of conservative, 1-up, 2 attacking option, 5 drives and a kick low risk rugby will tell me everything I need to know about Price, his tactics, his man management and his leadership.

Ashton out long-term, D Clark likely out for Friday.

Even so, we have a squad on paper that should win comfortably. Anything less than a comfortable win, with the motivation we should have from last week, will surely be a sign that this season's league campaign has ended. I have no doubt we'd see a resurgence in the cup run as it's a fresh start but that won't please me, nor most fans.

The last 12 months has seen me at my most apathetic concerning Warrington and RL in general. I had a brief pick-me-up for the first two games, but now I'm less interested than ever. Shame. I'll look to the future anyway.

I hope it's viewed as make or break by those that do the hiring and firing but I'm yet to be convinced they have the balls to do the right thing.

Cas will smell blood and Trueman & Richardson will run riot unless we find a Saints-esque performance.

The squallid, dirty, guilty truth is if we get a pummeling and the board take action then another defeat is collateral damage. I'd take it so we can try and salvage the season.

I can't see anything other than a comfortable cas win. I'd really hope the players will be itching to show that last week wasn't them but even so the coaching and playing style won't allow for us to be anything other than frustrating. I expect to be reading that cas were the better of the teams in terms of entertainment regardless of the result.

The worst thing that can happen for Warrington in my opinion is that we start posting form like WLWLLWLWL etc as that will be enough to keep Price in charge and to ensure nothing changes.

The similarities with the Castleford 28-36 evening game of 17/4/2008 is striking.

If getting battered something like 30+ to 0 means Price get's the sack then bring it on, get him gone put Briers in as a caretaker coach whilst looking for someone to bring in.

I would hope that the team put in a good performance but I cannot see it based of the last couple of games.

Cas at home was the fixture that put Paul Cullen out of his job...and Monaghan who disliked him was the guy who pulled the trigger pass.
Does anyone at Wire dislike Price as much as MM did PC?

Shall we have a sweepstakes on who makes the error that loses him his job?

Blimey can we narrow it down a bit? The only one I'd say won't make an error is Matty Ashton because he's guranteed not to play, the rest take your pick they're all as culpable.

However in the spirit of things I'll say Colonel Mustard, in the library with a lead pipe or rather Chris Hill, round the head with a yellow card.
