Absolutely the right call in my opinion, they recognise that this game is only going one way if we continue as we are with the concussion issues, hopefully an automatic sin bin will be enough of a deterrent for players to think before swinging there arm.

Although Tryscorer will be going mad claiming the game has gone soft.

Will certainly encourage players to think twice about going high or swinging an arm. Much like the automatic red card for a two footed tackle in football, even if they did not make contact with the opposing player.

You say that but my word it's going to be hard to implement.

This one needs investment IMHO. All matches should have a video ref (just lap top) not just a 4th official in the stand and all clubs must have static cameras around the ground to assist in feeding footage to assist.

For every tackle that is head high and goes unpunished, there is one that isn't that does. t has the potential to become a cheats paradise if left to just the one man to decide

I've no issue with it just the implementation, I don't want to watch games where teams are down to 9 men because a few tackles around the chest has wandered up to the chin! I. We can't be knee-jerk about this, for once it needs to be implemented with some common sense and no hysterics.

8 sin-binnings in the 2 NRL games this morning. Not seen them myself but the reports are some were a little harsh to say the least. More has to be done without a doubt but there has to be a balanced approach otherwisethe game will decend into farce. It's a tough one though.

There was only so many because it`s a new procedure and it takes time to get used to. Like when the 6 again come in first in the NRL, they were averaging 23 a game, now they average 7 a game. Quite simply, this has become necessary, players either learn to avoid direct contact with the head and it becomes a focus for coaches or they suffer 3 or 4 sin bins a game. More often than not, officials in the NRL get it right and they soon stamp out the bad aspects of the game, this is exactly what they will do here.

I expect us to follow, but never quite be consistent enough for it to make much difference.

You're being wildly optimistic and simplistic. We are virtually re-wiring the game here. That isn't a bad thing as such but it needs to be gradual and well thought out, not just instant and arbitrary.

I'd trial it first in the championship for at least 4 games so it can be refined a little. We don't have to overreact to tick boxes, just react to make the game safer yet still a spectacle.

Umpteen sin binnings a game will end this sport, it's already harder to watch with far to interference from the ref.

If we're not careful it will end up like oonion where players now seem to get sent off for making a perfectly good, but hard, tackle

A team of officials should be able to cover head shots and illegal tackles, but sometimes it seems that the ref does not want his authority questioned. Tonights game saw that the ref thought a legal tackle on Fifita when it seemed he caught a shoulder as well as a high tackle . Also he didnt think that a tackle where Jowiit got pyle drived but the ref thought penalty sufficient.

If we'd adopted the NRL directive over here for last night's game there should've been 6 or 7 Rhinos in the bin...I say should cos Hicks wouldn't have penalised them regardless of any directive
