I wish you would take him now. Can’t wait for the new era under Radford to start. Fresh ideas and new players. Powell has taken us as far as he can. Just don’t expect too much Warrington fans. His record in finals is abysmal.
He's 0-3 in terms of finals for Cas I think, but the whole thing needs to be taken in context. Beaten by a very experienced Leeds team in 2014 challenge cup final after Powell only joined in 2013 is a decent effort. 2017 significantly the best team in the comp, Hardaker screwed your chances against, again, a very good Leeds team in the grand final. Saints last week were always going to be favourites and it played out that way, he may have made a mistake going in to it a bit cold, but a game v Huddersfield was called off by Hudds not Cas I think?
A time comes for all coaches to move on (See Tony Smith and how he is now doing with Hull KR), and I can understand the frustrations in this case given how it was announced and players following the manager is always going to raise issues - seems quite a toxic situation now.
I think overall Powell has done well at Cas and will be given better playing budget and facilities at Warrington - hopefully he can go a step further. Be interesting to see how Radford goes at Cas, whether he turns you guys in to a Hull FC mark II or whether he builds on what is already at Cas. I don't rate him as highly as Powell but he does have two cup wins under his hat...
